Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the tattoo
Do not expose the tattoo to the sun while healing
No swimming, waxing, soaking, excessive sweating while healing your tattoo
Your tattoo may bleed a bit at first but it will stop within a couple of hours. Keep the tattoo bandaged overnight or for at least five hours after leaving the studio.
Once you remove your bandage, wash it carefully in Luke warm water, gently applying mild soap with fingers (never use a cloth) to remove all surface blood. Rinse with normal water, pat dry with a clean towel, and let it dry for 15 minutes. Gently and sparingly apply a thin layer of aftercare cream/ointment. Repeat 3 or 4 times a day for 7 days. After which time, a plain white lotion should be used daily until completely healed.
After 5 to 14 days, the tattoo may start to peel or scab (this is normal - like a sunburn). DO NOT pick or peel the skin away. Let it fall off naturally during washing or application of aftercare. Fresh skin will soon replace dead skin. Colors may appear faded during this time but will return when healing is completed.
After several weeks, all scabbing will be gone, but the area may still be sensitive. Continue regular cleaning and application of a plain white lotion. Once healed, keep sun exposure to a minimum. Always use a sunblock (at least SPF-30 sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection).
Please contact the studio if you have any questions or concerns regarding healing your tattoo.
